Erdenebileg appointed as new head for Mongolian Civil Aviation Authority

New_director_Mongolian_Civil_Aviation_Authority_Erdenebileg_TserenchimedThe Government cabinet has appointed a new head for the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia (MCAA) during its meeting on April 13, 2015.

The newly appointed Director General of MCAA - Erdenebileg Tserenchimed has been working in all areas and at all levels of the civil aviation starting from communications and navigation to policy development projects. According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transportation - Bat-Erdene J. who attended the transferring of the authority delegation, stated that Mr.Erdenebileg is an experienced aviation specialist and suggested to ensure the flight and technical safety at all times. "I believe that Mr.Erdenebileg will thoroughly discuss with the Ministry specialists and industry professionals when implementing the government project for restructuring civil aviation sector and will carry it out with an honour" he added.

Mr.Erdenebileg said that his agency will not sit back despite the uneasy economic situation in the country and will pay a special attention to the aviation safety. He also stated that he will take some economic and safety related actions immediately from day one. Among important projects that are related to his agency, he specifically mentioned the high-level ASEM meeting to be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2016 and the new international airport project currently under construction in Khushigt Valley.

According to the industry professionals, Erdenebileg Ts. is one of the young yet highly experienced aviation specialists of Mongolia. He graduated Ukraine’s Kiev Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers in 1990 as Engineer-Economist. Attended professional trainings in USA, Singapore and Russia. Earned a master degree in Economics. Speaks Russian and English. Previously, had worked both for the Civil Aviation Authority and MIAT Mongolian Airlines, during which worked as the first head of the Economic Regulations Division of MCAA and was a valuable member of policy-making team that developed the first “Government Policy on Civil Aviation” as well as negotiation team to purchase Boeing for the first time in Mongolian aviation history.
